We have two main camping fields, each of around 3 acres. The two fields are surrounded by woodland and marked into 4 sections. There is also a smaller area perfectly suited for DofE and small Scout Expedition Challenge Hike groups.
The camping fields can also be used for games and activities. This can be agreed with the warden and any other groups using the site upon booking.
There are altar fires or fire pits round the outside of both fields. Perfect for Backwoods cooking activities and cooking in Patrols. We ask that fires are not lit away from these designated sites.
Both North and South fields have their own water supplies. Stand pipes are located around the edges of the fields. There are also covered outdoor washing up facilities located on the outside of the Goodacre Building for the South Field and the Field Kitchen for the North Field.
Accessibility
The camping fields are situated on slopes which some may require addition support to navigate. The fields are widely accessible to all. There are Field Toilets, however those who require Disabled Facilities will need to discuss access to either the Lodge or Goodacre with the Warden.

Our sunken concrete fire bases being perfect for cooking with tripods or just over a low fire. Alternatively, the alter fires are accessible with the fire lifted clear of the ground on a metal plate these are also suitable for use with tripods or cooking in the embers.
